Peter Spain has some explaining to do… that’s his job. Peter is responsible for scientific and technical marketing at Teledyne RDI. His training programs, Tech Tips, and Application Notes, have helped customers better understand the instruments they utilize.
    His background in ocean physics (he studied under the scientists who invented velocity profiling) and his skill at explaining complex technical subjects, make him particularly suited to this task. His one wish? “I want to know what else people would like to read in the Tech Tips section,” he says.

After 6 years as a marketing consultant to Teledyne RDI, she’s now officially on board leading the company's marketing initiatives. Margo puts her gift of gab and 17 years of extensive industry experience to work every day marketing our organization, and providing our worldwide sales staff with the tools they need to effectively communicate the many solutions we have to offer. A die-hard ‘East Coaster’, Margo leads the charge from her office on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, but makes frequent trips to our office in sunny California -- particularly in the dead of winter!

Sherry Fowler is a native of sunny San Diego, alumni of colorful Colorado State University, fan of daily Dutch living and a student for life. Sherry soaks up lessons of all types from the technical how-to-do to the diverse cultures of peoples and places along her path.
    Sherry was recently introduced to Teledyne RD Instruments culture and has found a wealth of unique information and career development. New to the team in 2008, Sherry will be lightening the load of trade show logistics and be playing a key role in many other important tasks for the Marketing Department. 
    If there’s one piece of advice Sherry could share, it would be to swim past the break, patiently watch the waters, and when the swell rolls in, take the ride and enjoy to its fullest.

Darryl Symonds is a fun guy. Always armed with a smile and a willingness to joke, he brings a uniquely diverse set of experiences to his job. He began his career at Teledyne RDI over 20 years ago as a self-described “gopher,” steadily moving up through the company to his present position as the manager of the Marine Measurement Business Unit.
    “The biggest joy of my job,” Darryl says, “is getting to visit customers all over the world. They all have great stories. I’ve had a good time everywhere I’ve gone.”

As manager of Teledyne RDI's Marine Measurement Sales Group, Jim Fahey enjoys a broad charter that has him putting Teledyne RDI instrumentation in every ocean on the planet. He is a man of the world. With 30 years of experience in marine measurement and his previous experience with Teledyne RDI's European division, Jim draws on an expertise that is as vast as the oceans he helps to measure.
    "I particularly enjoy discussing with clients the nuances of their applications," he says. "Helping them make the best use of Teledyne RDI technology also helps me uncover opportunities to refine Teledyne RDI's products."

Coastal Sales Manager:

Paul Devine

Paul Devine is one of the few people on the planet who can say they've spent time studying tidal estuary hydraulics. His prior experience as a coastal engineer, which had him evaluating numerical wave transformations, contaminated sediment transport, and the evolution of habitat in engineered wetlands, gave him a perfect introduction to the end uses of the products he supports today.
    Paul provides pre-sales support for customers working in the engineering, environmental, ecological, and coastal oceanographic fields. "Customers call me with a need, and and I help them find a solution," he says. " I listen, try to put myself in their shoes, and we work together to solve their problem.  I really take ownership of my customers' projects -- and love the opportunity to apply my background experience to their current needs."
    When he's not dealing vicariously with his customers' projects, he likes to surf at the mouths of rivers, an activity that he blames for his sinus trouble.

Grant Jennings

Fifteen years ago, Grant Jennings was getting his start in the oceanographic industry as a service engineer. He specialized in the hydrographic and sub-sea pipe and cable detection markets and has been on a tear ever since. Now he delivers ADCPs to a veritable laundry list of markets that includes renewable energy, oil & gas, offshore construction, hydrographic, dynamic positioning, and rental markets.
    In fact, it’s to this wide swath of subject matter that Grant credits his job satisfaction. “It’s the variety that makes my job interesting,” he says. “There’s never a dull moment.”

Patrick joined the Teledyne RD Instruments Marine Measurements sales team in September 2006, and has taken on the role of technical sales. With an academic background in Marine Science, as well as technical sales experience within the process instrumentation industry, Patrick is well equipped to make an immediate contribution to Teledyne RDI and its customers.
    “I’m thrilled to be associated with the company that has set the world-wide standard for making precise ADCP measurements” said Patrick, “and grateful for the opportunity to help this organization continue to grow.” Patrick is a graduate of Jacksonville University, Florida.

Jennifer Sindelir

Jennifer Sindelir recently joined Teledyne RDI's Marine Measurements Technical Sales team.  Jennifer will be supporting new direct sales efforts with an initial focus on oceanographic applications for North American government agency clients.
    Jennifer worked three years as an Electrical Engineer in Space Systems communications, where she learned the basics of hardware design and testing.  She also brings 14 years of military experience and currently serves as a Lieutenant Commander in the Naval Reserve.  She has lived and worked on the ocean her entire life and is especially enthusiastic about the opportunities in our field.  The combination of her skill sets with those already in our Marine Measurements Business Unit will allow us to strengthen our position in the industry and grow our business to new heights.

Mike Sopko recently joined Teledyne RDI's Marine Measurements Technical Sales team. Mike will be supporting new direct sales efforts with an initial focus on oceanographic applications for Western Hemisphere Military clients.
    Mike Sopko has spent the past eleven years in sales, business development, and channel management roles with several software and electronics technology companies in the San Diego area.  Most recently he served as International Sales Director for a manufacturer of wireless security and audio/video equipment.  Prior to beginning his sales career, Mike served eight years in the U.S. Navy as a division officer, instructor, and mission commander in the E-2C Hawkeye radar control and early warning aircraft.  During his transition into the commercial sector, he completed a Masters degree in international business management from U.C. San Diego, which complements a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering earned at the U.S. Naval Academy.

    Navigational applications are far from standardized and it is this variety that Omer enjoys most. "All the vehicles and applications I deal with are incredibly diverse," he says. "My knowledge of the industry expands on a daily basis. There's always something new and I like that."

Marc is a great new addition to the Navigation team.  He enjoys outdoor activities such as canoeing, backpacking, and skiing. He loves playing guitar and can't leave out the fact he is an amateur photographer that frequently gets sideline shots at the Charger home games.  Marc is an engineer at the core with  20 years of technical sales and marketing experience. Jim Rogers started his career at Teledyne RDI over 18 years ago.  He worked his way up in the Field and Customer Service departments, eventually taking the role of Customer Service Manager.
    During this time, Jim was dedicated to providing customers with answers to their questions and solutions to any technical difficulties that may arise. Jim's goal was to always meet, and preferably to exceed customers' expectations.
    Jim has now transferred his skills and combined experience from Field and Customer Service department to lead our Water Resources Business Unit.
    As our Water Resources Business Unit Manager, Jim is tasked with the strategic planning, and oversight of the day-to-day operations of this growing business unit.
